Gabriel Fankhauser joined the faculty at the University of North Georgia in 2014, after teaching and coordinating music theory at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC for many years. He has presented research to nation and international audiences. His most recent publications include an article in Music Analysis that uses Schenkerian and phrase rhythm analysis as tools toward interpreting meaning in Shostakovich’s Second Piano Trio. He has a form and analysis textbook currently being published by Kendall-Hunt.
