Overview

Lisa Hauser Prodan works as a classical musician in various ways. She is currently an adjunct faculty member at the University of North Georgia, Dahlonega and Gainesville campuses, where she teaches oboe, woodwind methods, chamber ensemble, and online music appreciation. She holds the solo English horn position with the Greenville Symphony Orchestra in Greenville, South Carolina, performs as a freelance musician, and teaches oboe and flute to a variety of skill-levels and ages, both in her private studio as well as schools in the Northeast Georgia region. She also serves as adjudicator and clinician for a variety of schools and music organizations.

Dr. Prodan earned her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in oboe performance at the University of Georgia in December 2005. She also holds a Master of Music degree in oboe performance and a Bachelor of Science degree in music education. Her research interests include the use of oboe in the Baroque period, and oboe pedagogy at the beginning level. She is currently working on developing a beginning oboe method for use in the private studio or as a supplement in a beginning band program.
