eLearning@UNG (D2L) Tutorials

A set of three tutorials (Getting Started with eLearning@UNG (D2L), Basic Technology Skills for Online Courses, and What to Expect as an Online Student) are designed to introduce you to UNG's learning management system, eLearning@UNG (D2L), and prepare you for online or hybrid courses. In the Getting Started with eLearning@UNG (D2L) tutorial, students will learn how to navigate their courses and use the various tools available within the course. In the Basic Technology Skills for D2L Courses, students can find how to resources and tips for using Microsoft products and navigating the internet and their computer. In the What to Expect as an Online Student tutorial, students will review several resources, learn about the different online course formats, and learn how to set themselves up for success. The tutorials are available for self-enrollment within the eLearning@UNG (D2L) homepage under the Explore tab.

How do I use eLearning@UNG (D2L)?

DETI’s Online Student Success team has created a set of eLearning@UNG (D2L) tutorials. You can self-enroll in individual tutorials within the Explore tab on the top navigation bar of the eLearning@UNG (D2L) homepage. You can also find tutorial videos and more D2L resources on the eLearning@UNG (D2L) homepage. If you need further assistance, please contact us via email at ungonline@ung.edu.

How do I find my course within eLearning@UNG (D2L)?

All of your courses are listed within “My Courses”. If your course is not “pinned” on the homepage, click on the “view all courses” link. Once you find your course, you can “pin” it and access it directly from the homepage. Detailed instructions can be found within the “Finding and Pinning a Course” resource on the right-hand side of your eLearning@UNG (D2L) homepage.

I have never taken an online class. Are there any tips and tricks you can suggest?

I am not very experienced with using computers. Are there any resources that could help me?

Along with the information within our Getting Started with eLearning@UNG webpage, we recommend students visit the Goodwill Community Foundation’s technology tutorials. They offer tutorials on using Microsoft Office suite, internet usage, computer basics, and more.

Do I have access to tutors online?

Yes, UNG offers free online tutoring 24/7 through Tutor.com. You can access Tutor.com directly through your courses in D2L. More information can be found within our Tutor.com Information webpage.

Respondus LockDown Browser & Monitor

Respondus LockDown Browser is a custom browser that locks down the testing environment when taking quizzes and exams in eLearning@UNG (D2L). This is a free AI solution to proctored exams.

Tutor.com

Tutor.com is a free online tutoring service available 24/7. Students can access Tutor.com within their D2L courses. Subjects include: Business, Mathematics, Computer Technology, Spanish, Writing, Nursing, and more.

Top Hat

Top Hat is an active learning platform which allows your instructor to ask questions, take polls, give quizzes, and get feedback from you during class.

Turnitin

Turnitin is a plagiarism checker. Most instructors will integrate Turnitin directly within their assignments.

Anthology Ally

Anthology Ally provides course content in a wide range of alternate formats for students.
