Overview

Previously, Ervin Howard was an instructor for the School of Education and Psychology department located at Elizabeth City State University. As an instructor, Howard taught several sections of the technology integration course, EDUC 203 Introduction to Computer Instructional Technology to pre-service teachers. In addition, Howard taught two educational courses, EDUC 225 Explorations in Mathematics for developing pre-service teachers' math conceptual skills and knowledge and EDUC 170 Praxis I Mathematics for preparing pre-service teachers in taking and passing the Praxis I Math Exam.

Ervin Howard once served as a mathematics faculty member for the School of Math, Science and Technology for six years before transitioning to the School of Education and Psychology. Howard taught GE 115 College Algebra and GE 118 Pre-Calculus during his five years of service with the Computer Science and Mathematics department. Also, Howard taught the MATH 121 Number Systems & Algebra and MATH 122 Geometry & Data Analysis math courses to pre-service teachers during his service for the mathematics department.

In 1988, Ervin Howard acquired his Bachelor’s Degree of Science (Computer and Informational Sciences) from Elizabeth City State University. In 2002, Howard had acquired his Masters in Arts of Education (Instructional Technology with specialization in computers) from East Carolina University. In June 2014, Howard had acquired his Ph.D. in Instructional Design for Online Learning from Capella University. Dr. Howard serves as the instructional designer/professional development coordinator for DETI on UNG’s Oconee campus.

Personal Information

Ervin enjoys cooking, smoking, and grilling especially with recipes demonstrated by famous Iron Chefs or Food Network Stars such as Bobby Flay, Michael Simon, and Giada De Laurentiis. Ervin posts his experiences of eating various foods on Facebook called “Adventures in Eating."
