Massey University New Zealand Course Partnership Video Transcript

Ever think of taking classes at a foreign university without leaving the comfort of your home or dorm room here in northern Georgia? Well now here's your chance!

Hi. I'm Dlynn Armstrong-Williams and I'm the Department Head of Political Science & International Affairs. And I just wanted to announce to you a wonderful opportunity where this department is partnering with the Center for Defense & Strategic Studies at the University of Massey in New Zealand. This partnership is a first-time ever for the Political Science & International Affairs Department, and we're partnering with this university outside the United States to provide an opportunity for a virtual study during the Spring semester, and in following Spring semesters.

If you're interested in a course in "Intelligence in the Security Environment" and welcome the chance to study and interact with students and faculty from a much different culture than the UNG norm, then this program is for you.

This program is designed for juniors and first-semester seniors. The great thing about this program is that you can take normal courses at UNG and take the one course with Massey as part of your normal schedule. In fact, the HOPE scholarship could cover your courses, as well as, any other financial aid.

While this program does not count as study abroad, the wonderful thing is you will have an excellent cross-cultural experience with people from the Asia-Pacific on the other side of the world.

So, we have three slots available for this program for the Spring semester. And we hope, that you know, the Spring semester is just around the corner. So make sure you process your application very quickly.

To find out more information about our application, please just go to our departmental website at UNG.edu/political science & international affairs/student resources/Massey University and Course Partnership, and complete the application.

The application includes a 500-word essay telling us why you would be an ideal candidate for this program; your ability at self-motivation; and why you've really chosen to apply for this UNG-Massey course.

The deadline for the application can be found on our Massey website, and please submit your application by that date, so that you can want to, be one of the three students chosen for this excellent opportunity.

If you have any questions about this excellent opportunity, please reach out to your academic advisor or give the Political Science Department a call at 706-864-1628.

Because we value all of our majors in Political Science & International Affairs, and we hope you apply, because we really want you to #experiencemore.
