Dr. Barry Friedman Scholarship in Political Science & International Affairs

The application window for the inaugural award of the Dr. Barry Friedman Scholarship in Political Science & International Affairs is closed. Please revisit this site at the beginning of the Spring 2024 semester for information regarding the opening of the application window for the Academic Year 2024-25.

Thanks to the generosity of numerous members of our #PSIAfamily, a student member of our #PSIAFamily will soon receive a $1000 grant toward spring 2024 UNG - related educational expenses. The grant comes courtesy of our first-ever PSIA Department scholarship, named in honor of Professor Emeritus Dr. Barry Friedman, professor of political science from 1996 - 2021.

This scholarship is open to undergraduate students who:

• Are majoring in Political Science, International Affairs or Strategic and Security Studies and enrolled full-time at UNG; and
• Have completed at least nine hours of POLS prefixed courses at the time of application; and 
• Have a minimum cumulative GPA of at least 2.75.
