Tau Upsilon Alpha National Honor Society

Tau Upsilon Alpha is the National Honor Society for Human Services Students. Its purpose is to honor academic excellence; to foster lifelong learning, leadership and development; and to promote excellence in service to humanity. Tau Upsilon Alpha is a program of the National Organization of Human Services.  

Chapter Information

Alpha Pi, the University of North Georgia’s chapter of Tau Upsilon Alpha, inducted its first members in November 2012.

Eligibility Requirements for Undergraduate Students:

  • Must be enrolled in HSDA (as a major or minor) or a closely related social science field (including social work)
  • Must have a minimum 3.25 cumulative GPA.
  • If enrolled in an associate degree program, must have completed at least 12 credit hours in courses leading to the associate degree.
  • If enrolled in a baccalaureate degree program, must have completed at least the equivalent of three full-time semesters of courses leading to the baccalaureate degree.
  • Must agree to abide by the National Organization for Human Services Code of Ethics and must show evidence of awareness of the value of leadership and service to a successful career in the human services.
