    Overview

    Dr. Smith was born and raised in upstate New York on beautiful Lake George. Following graduation, he moved west to pursue his graduate education in Wyoming and eventually Washington State. Dr. Smith began working at Gainesville State College in 2009, and joined the University of North Georgia following consolidation. Although his primary campus is in Gainesville, he currently lives in Athens, Georgia, with his wife, son and five cats.

    Dr. Smith has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals including: Public Opinion Quarterly, Political Research Quarterly, American Politics Research, and the International Journal of Press/Politics.
