The Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) subscribes to various grant databases to help you identify available funding opportunities. University of North Georgia (UNG) faculty and staff can access these search tools directly (see information below), as well as fill out an Investigator Profile to help OSP staff learn more about their research or project goals so we can assist in locating an appropriate sponsor.
SPIN is one of the most comprehensive databases of funding opportunities from government and private sources covering most disciplines. SPIN offers active, customizable searching, automated opportunity matching and notifications, and a digest on all the latest funding news. SPIN is available at no-cost to University of North Georgia (UNG) faculty and staff. Contact grants@ung.edu for more information and assistance.
Go to the SPIN Login page and click "Need to create a new profile?" Enter your information and an account request will be sent to UNG's SPIN administrator to approve.
Once your account is approved, you will receive an email confirmation and be able to login.
As soon as you login, you can start searching and set your preferences for the best results. Training videos are available in the SPIN Help menu.
After performing a search, click “Save” and choose to receive email updates with new relevant opportunities either daily or weekly.
The Grants Resource Center (GRC), a service of the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU), is a comprehensive resource available to UNG employees. GRC staff cultivate the latest federal and private funding opportunities and news.
GRC provides grant funding opportunity search tools and general information on agencies and funding trends. You can also find examples of funded proposals in their Funded Proposal Library. Contact grants@ung.edu if you would like to request a funded proposal or need assistance.
Create an AASCU account using your UNG email and UNG address.
Go to the AASCU website and click Login, then enter your AASCU account information.
Click GrantSearch in the menu to find funding opportunities or view a curated list in the “Deadlines” newsletter by clicking Publications.
Click on Funding Resources in the menu to complete a Faculty Alert Registration for automated search results in your email. Fill out a Funding Search Form for search assistance from a GRC Program Advisor.
