My research focuses on how communication shapes conflict and extreme violence and, in turn, how it can be harnessed to rebuild individuals, communities, and institutions fractured by conflict toward peaceful recovery and transformation. I examine the communication approaches used by individuals, groups, organizations, communities, and institutions during and in the aftermath of conflict, while drawing from these practices to develop evidence-based frameworks for sustainable recovery.
