Applying to the Gainesville Theatre Alliance

Admission into GTA is highly competitive. All Theatre B.F.A. programs (Acting, Musical Theatre, Theatre Design & Technology) accept 12 students per academic year, while the B.A. Theatre program is capped at 20 students per year. Admission to all programs is by audition or interview only. B.F.A. Acting, B.F.A. Musical Theatre, and B.A. Theatre students can begin their collegiate career at UNG through the Theatre Pathway (A.A.) before transferring to Brenau to complete the bachelor degree.

Students must be accepted into the institution they plan to attend (either Brenau University or UNG) before final acceptance into the theatre degree program of choice. Theatre Scholarships in all programs are awarded to students based on talent, commitment, and academic performance.

All students must apply through the GTA application portal and audition or interview in person at one of the three audition events held throughout the academic year.  In special circumstances, students may be admitted via audition/interview at select theatre conferences or audition events, such as the College Audition Project (CAP) United Auditions, South Eastern Theatre Conference (SETC), ThesCon, or Georgia Theatre Conference.
