Jeff Marker earned his Doctor of Philosophy in comparative literature from the University of Georgia in 2006 and began at University of North Georgia later that year. His primary areas of research are surveillance in cinema, Shakespeare on film, and theories of the cinematic spectator. He has been published in Literature/Film Quarterly and The Journal of Popular Culture and has presented at numerous academic conferences. In addition to academic scholarship, Jeff has reviewed movies for several years, co-hosts The Film Fix podcast, and is a member of both the Southeastern Film Critics Association and the Georgia Film Critics Association. He has also directed, written, and/or edited several music videos and is in production on his first feature-length documentary.
