Registration Dates

Registration Information

Banner Registration Dates and Times

To find your registration dates and times, please login to UNG Banner Web and follow these links:
  1. Student
  2. Registration
  3. Check for Registration Time and Holds
  4. Select your desired semester/year and submit

Holds

Please be sure to check your BannerWeb account for any holds. All holds should be resolved prior to registration. Who must seek assistance to register? If you cannot self-register due to Learning Support requirements or certain holds, you must:

  1. See your advisor before your registration day/time arrives
  2. Complete a registration form (permit/scheduling worksheet) signed by your advisor
  3. Once your registration day/time arrives, Dahlonega and Gainesville students should submit the completed registration form to the Registrar's Office for processing, Cumming students should go to Room 146 at the Cumming campus for assistance, and Oconee students should go to the Oconee campus Administration Building.

Maximum Hours/Course Loads

The maximum number of hours for which anyone will be able to register will be 20 credit hours in the spring and fall (16 hours in the summer) except for those students with learning support or CPC requirements, or those students not in good academic standing. These students will have a maximum of 17 credit hours (spring and fall).

Fall 2018 Schedule

Continuing/Active Students 

  • Early Registration for the fall 2018 semester will be from March 29 - April 20 for continuing students (students who last attended summer 2018, spring 2018, and/or fall 2017).
  • During the April 3 - April 17 registration period, Gainesville, Cumming, Oconee, and Blue Ridge students are permitted to cross-register for Gainesville, Cumming, Oconee, and Blue Ridge classes but will not be permitted to register for Dahlonega classes except in specified programs, and Dahlonega students will only be permitted to register for Dahlonega classes in most programs.
  • On April 18-20, and during the Add/Drop period of the fall semester, students seeking a bachelor's degree will be permitted to register for courses offered at any campus.
  • Registration for fall semester will re-open from July 23-27 for continuing students (students who last attended summer 2018, spring 2018 and/or fall 2017).
    • Cross-campus registration will not be available during this period (see below).
  • On August 15, the start of the Add/Drop period (August 15-24) will be based on student overall earned hours: 
    • 8:30 a.m. - 90 or more hours
    • 9:30 a.m. - 60 or more hours
    • 10:30 a.m. - 30 or more hours
    • 11:30 a.m. - 0 or more hours
    • Cross-campus registration will be available during this period for eligible students
  • eCore Short Session II Add/Drop registration will open again October 8 and will close October 10 (classes can be dropped through October 12).
  • Second Half Session Add/Drop registration will open again October 15-17.

New and Re-Admitted Degree/Certificate Seeking Students

  • Registration will occur during your orientation session.

New and Re-Admitted Non-Degree/Non-Certificate Seeking Students

TAP Students

Class registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. Please check back for date.

Transient Students

Class registration will begin on August 15 beginning at 8:30 a.m.

Spring 2018 Schedule

Continuing/Active Students

  • Registration for Spring 2018 will be from October 26 - December 17, December 20-26, and December 29 - January 4 for continuing students (students who last attended Spring 2017, Summer 2017, and/or Fall 2017) and will be based on student overall earned hours.

Spring Add/Drop

  • On January 6, the start of the Add/Drop period (January 6-12) will be based on student overall earned hours:
    • 12 noon - Graduate and students with no scheduled Spring classes. This group does not include students whose courses were dropped for non-payment.
    • 1:00 p.m. - 90 or more hours
    • 2:00 p.m. - 60 or more hours
    • 3:00 p.m. - 30 or more hours
    • 4:00 p.m. - 0 or more hours
  • Cross-campus registration will be available during this period for eligible students.
  • Add/Drop will end at 12 noon on Friday, January 12.

Cross-Campus Registration (Undergraduate Students only)

  • During the October 26 – November 17 registration period, Gainesville, Cumming, Blue Ridge, and Oconee students are permitted to cross-register for Gainesville, Cumming, Blue Ridge, and Oconee classes but will not be permitted to register for Dahlonega classes except in specified programs, and Dahlonega students will only be permitted to register for Dahlonega classes in most programs.
  • From November 15-17, students seeking a Bachelor’s degree will be permitted to register for courses offered at any campus.

New and Re-Admitted Degree/Certificate Seeking Students

Dahlonega Campus

  • If you are attending a New Student Orientation on the Dahlonega Campus, you will be able to register during your orientation session for courses on the Dahlonega Campus.
  • If you do not attend an orientation session, you will be permitted to register for classes on January 6, 2018 beginning at 12:00 noon.
  • Registration for courses at other UNG campuses will only be permitted during the Add/Drop period.

Gainesville, Cumming, Blue Ridge, and Oconee Campuses

  • If you are attending a New Student Orientation on the Gainesville, Cumming, Blue Ridge, or Oconee campus, you will be able to register during your orientation session for courses on the Gainesville, Cumming, Blue Ridge, or Oconee campuses.
  • If you do not attend an orientation session, you will be permitted to register for classes on January 6, 2018 beginning at 12:00 noon.
  • Registration for courses on the Dahlonega Campus will only be permitted during the Add/Drop period for eligible students.

New and Re-Admitted Non-Degree/Non-Certificate Seeking Students 

TAP Students

  • Class registration will begin on January 2, 2018, beginning at 7:30 a.m.

Transient Students

  • Class registration will begin on January 8, 2018, beginning at 7:30 a.m.

Summer 2018 Schedule

Continuing/Active Students

  • Registration for summer 2018 will be from October 26 - December 17, December 20-26, and December 29 - January 4 for continuing students (students who last attended spring 2017, summer 2017, and/or fall 2017) and will be based on student overall earned hours.
  • Summer 2018 registration will then remain open through the spring semester until the end of the fall 2018 early registration period (March 29 - April 20)

Summer Add/Drop

  • Maymester - May 14
  • Full session - May 14, May 29-31
  • First Short session – May 14, May 29-30
  • Second Short session - May 14, May 29-31, and July 2-3
  • eCore - May 14, May 29-31 (Add), and May 29 - June 4 (Drop)

Cross-Campus Registration (Undergraduate Students only)

  • Registration for courses at other UNG campuses will only be permitted during the Add/Drop periods.

Gainesville, Cumming, Blue Ridge, and Oconee Campuses

  • If you are attending a New Student Orientation on the Gainesville, Cumming, Blue Ridge, or Oconee campus, you will be able to register during your orientation session for courses on the Gainesville, Cumming, Blue Ridge, or Oconee campuses.
  • If you do not attend an orientation session, you will be permitted to register for classes during the Add/Drop dates listed above.
  • Registration for courses on the Dahlonega campus will only be permitted during the Add/Drop periods for eligible students.

New and Re-Admitted Non-Degree/Non-Certificate Seeking Students 

TAP Students

  • Class registration TBD, beginning at 7:30 a.m.

Transient Students

  • Class registration will begin on May 14, 2018 beginning at 7:30 a.m.
