Registration Information

Banner Registration Dates and Times

To find your registration dates and times, please login to UNG Banner Web and follow these links:

Fall 2018 Schedule

Continuing/Active Students 

  • Registration for the fall 2018 semester will be from March 29 - April 29 for continuing students (students who last attended summer 2018, spring 2018, and/or fall 2017).
  • During the March 29 - April 17 registration period, Gainesville, Cumming, Oconee, and Blue Ridge students are permitted to cross-register for Gainesville, Cumming, Oconee, and Blue Ridge classes but will not be permitted to register for Dahlonega classes except in specified programs, and Dahlonega students will only be permitted to register for Dahlonega classes in most programs.
  • On April 18-29, any additional registration periods during the summer (please see below for details), and during the Add/Drop period of the fall semester, students seeking a bachelor's degree will be permitted to register for courses offered at any campus.
  • Registration for fall semester will also be open from June 2-25 and July 1 - August 9.

Fall Add/Drop Dates

  • On August 13, the start of the Add/Drop period (August 13-24) will be based on student overall earned hours:
    • 8:30 a.m. - 90 or more hours
    • 9:30 a.m. - 60 or more hours
    • 10:30 a.m. - 30 or more hours
    • 11:30 a.m. - 0 or more hours
  • eCore Short Session II Add/Drop registration will open again October 8 and will close October 10 (classes can be dropped through October 12).
  • Second Half Session Add/Drop registration will open again October 15-17.

New Degree/Certificate Seeking Students

  • Registration will occur during your orientation session.

New Non-Degree/Non-Certificate Seeking Students

Post-Baccalaureate/Re-Admitted Degree Seeking Students

  • Once registration opens for continuing/active students, post-baccalaureate and re-admitted degree seeking students will be eligible to register approximately two weeks after their readmission date based on their overall earned credit hours.

TAP Students

Class registration will begin on August 6 at 7:30 a.m.

Transient Students

Class registration will begin on August 20 at 7:30 a.m.

Spring 2019 Schedule

Continuing/Active Students

  • Registration for spring 2019 will open October 25 for continuing students (students who last attended spring 2018, summer 2018, and/or fall 2018) and will be based on student overall earned hours.
  • Registration will remain open until January 3, except for intermittent periods of required closing (please check your registration time ticket for available registration periods).

Graduate Students

  • Registration for spring 2019 will open October 22 for all continuing/active (students who last attended spring 2018, summer 2018, and/or fall 2018) and new graduate students.

Cross-Campus Registration (Undergraduate Students only)

  • From October 25 – November 13, Gainesville, Cumming, Blue Ridge, and Oconee students are permitted to cross-register for Gainesville, Cumming, Blue Ridge, and Oconee classes but will not be permitted to register for Dahlonega classes except in specified programs, and Dahlonega students will only be permitted to register for Dahlonega classes in most programs.
  • From November 14 – January 11, students seeking a Bachelor’s degree will be permitted to register for courses offered at any campus.

Spring Add/Drop Dates

  • On January 5 at 12:00 noon, the Add/Drop period will begin.
  • Cross-campus registration will be available during this period for eligible students.
  • Add/Drop will end at 12:00 noon on Friday, January 11.

New Degree and Certificate Seeking Students

  • Registration will occur during your orientation session.

Non-Degree, Non-Certificate, and Transient Students 

Post-Baccalaureate/Re-Admitted Degree and Certificate Seeking Students

  • Once registration opens for continuing/active students, post-baccalaureate and re-admitted degree seeking students will be eligible to register approximately two weeks after their readmission date based on their overall earned credit hours.

TAP Students

  • Class registration will begin January 2 at 7:30 a.m.

Summer 2019 Schedule

Continuing/Active Students

  • Registration for summer 2019 will open October 25 for continuing students (students who last attended summer 2018, fall 2018, and/or spring 2019) and will be based on student overall earned hours.
  • Registration will then remain open through the spring semester until May 9, except for intermittent periods of required closing (please check your registration time ticket for available registration periods).

Graduate Students

  • Registration for summer 2019 will open October 22 for all continuing/active (students who last attended summer 2018, fall 2018, and/or spring 2019) and new graduate students.

Cross-Campus Registration (Undergraduate Students only)

  • Maymester – May 13
  • Full session – May 13, June 3-5
  • First Short session – May 13-14
  • Second Short session – May 13, June 3-5, and June 24-25
  • eCore – May 13, May 28-30 (Add), and May 28-June 3 (Drop)

New Degree and Certificate Seeking Students

  • Registration will occur during your orientation session.

Non-Degree, Non-Certificate, and Transient Students

Holds

Please be sure to check your BannerWeb account for any holds. All student holds should be resolved prior to registration.

Maximum Hours/Course Loads

The maximum number of hours for which anyone will be able to register will be 20 credit hours in the spring and fall (16 hours in the summer) except for those students with learning support or CPC requirements, or those students not in good academic standing. These students will have a maximum of 17 credit hours (spring and fall).
