    Slide 1

    The Withdrawal Process at UNG

Is a withdrawal right for you?

    Slide 2

What is the difference between dropping and withdrawing from a course?

    Slide 3

    There are three big differences

    Slide 4

    #1 - Deadlines

The deadline to drop a class is usually within the first week of the semester.

The deadline to withdraw from a class is typically toward the middle of the semester (mid-October for fall and mid-March for spring).

    Slide 5

    #2 - A withdrawal counts toward enrollment.

When a student withdraws from a class, the class remains on the student’s schedule and their transcript with a grade of a “W.”

    Slide 6

#3 – Withdrawals can affect your Financial Aid.

Course withdrawals can negatively impact your financial aid. Ask your Financial Aid counselor how a withdrawal could affect you.

    Slide 7

    Ask Questions.

Not sure if a withdrawal is right for you?

Because a course withdrawal can affect you in a few ways, ask questions! Before making a decision, talk with:

    1. Your Academic Advisor
    2. The Office of Financial Aid
    3. The Office of the Registrar
