Normal Hours Resume

All offices at UNG have resumed a normal schedule of Monday - Thursday 8:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. unless noted here.

Appalachian Studies Operations Update

The Dahlonega food pantry is available by appointment only.

Athletic Events

The Peach Belt Conference Board of Directors announced several decisions in late August which allow for a limited fall season for cross country, tennis and golf while delaying soccer to spring of 2021. The Board’s decisions come following the NCAA Board of Governors additional requirements and the cancellation of the 2020 DII fall championships as the results of the COVID-19 pandemic. A decision regarding the timeline for men’s and women’s basketball will be made later in the fall.

Cadet Admissions Operations Update

Staff members have returned to campus. Campus tours can be scheduled as individual family appointments and will be conducted in accordance with CDC guidelines. Remote meetings can also be facilitated for those not wishing to visit campus at this time. 

Cadet Admissions Events Amended

Cadet Admissions will amend the following events in accordance with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention's guidance related to large events and the evolving COVID-19 situation:

Campus Rec - Dahlonega - Operations Update

Rec Center Facility capacity is currently limited to 50 patrons at a time.

Memorial Hall Pool capacity is currently limited to 6 patrons at a time.

Campus Rec - Gainesville - Operations Update

Facility capacity is currently limited to 30 patrons at a time. Please call 678-717-3414 to check current capacity. 

Note: Open to employees, students and members only. No guest/day passes available this fall.

Card Services Operations Update

UNG Card Services is following the Return to Campus guidelines.

All photos must be submitted online.

Dining Services

Chow House Diner on the Dahlonega Campus will be a pick up location only through the Transact Mobile Ordering App.

Fall 2020 Notice

Dining Services will be fully functional and students will be able to eat in the dining hall at the Dahlonega Campus and the food courts at the Gainesville and Dahlonega campuses, though capacity will be limited to encourage social distancing. We are also providing other opportunities to order through our dining app and grab and go options to take meals to eat in other locations.

Students, faculty and staff can use their meal plan swipes through December 4, which includes use during remote instruction for finals week.

Dahlonega Campus:

  • Holiday hours will be in effect beginning Monday, November 23, 2020. Most Dahlonega dining locations will be closed or will have special operating hours. Please see the Dahlonega dining website for hours of each location.
  • P.O.D. Express located in the Health and Natural Sciences building will be closed beginning Monday, September 21, 2020 and will reopen in fall 2021.
  • Java City located in the Library Technology Center will be closing on Monday, November 23, 2020 and will reopen in 2022 at a new location.

Gainesville Campus:

  • All Gainesville dining locations will be closed for the remainder of the semester. All dining locations will reopen normal hours on Monday, January 11, 2021.

Grants and Contracts Administration Operations Update

Grants and Contracts Administration (GCA) staff are back in the office and operating under normal hours but request that you still make an appointment to meet with the staff.

Pre-Award staff are available via email and Teams chat, call, and video (video calls are by appointment). Please contact Post-Award staff and GCA Administration via email. GCA staff will make other arrangements as needed for communicating with the UNG community and any external entities. Principal Investigators (PIs) with current grants should forward any communications from sponsors to Lourdes Bastas.

Language Labs Operations Updates

Our Language Labs are open and ready to help you! However, due to social distancing guidelines, our capacity for in-person visits has been greatly reduced. To safely accommodate in-person visits, we ask that you make an appointment to visit one of our physical lab spaces.

Postal Services Adjusted Hours

Postal Services is operating in accordance with the Return to Campus Plans.

Campus-specific operations are as follows:

  • Dahlonega - Incoming mail pick-up and out-going mail drop-off is now available at the service window in Hoag.
  • Gainesville - Incoming mail pick-up and out-going mail drop-off is available at the Logistical Services warehouse loading dock.
    • Please email Eddie Morgan to schedule a pick-up or drop-off time

Intercampus courier services are operating on a limited schedule as follows:

  • Dahlonega/Gainesville: Monday - Thursday
  • Oconee: Wednesday
  • Blue Ridge/Cumming: as needed

All campus routes are back to their usual schedule.

Student Disability Services Operations Update

Student Money Management Center Operations Update

Testing Centers Operations Update

Appointment availability, at all UNG Testing Centers, is limited due to social distancing precautions and varies by campus location. Our testing center staff are following strict cleaning regimens after each exam admission session, that includes disinfecting all items and surfaces that candidates encounter. Please review our testing center’s Procedures and FAQs  prior to your scheduled appointment for information on what to expect during your visit. With safety measures in place, we are working together to ensure a clean and hygienic testing environment. Please note: all persons entering the UNG Testing Centers will be required to wear a face covering.

Please be mindful: Testing staff use latex free gloves when handling test materials. If you have an allergy that may impact your testing experience, please notify testing staff of your concern.
