Area(s) of Expertise: Foundations Coordinator, Painting and Drawing

    Overview

Craig Marshal Wilson is an Associate Professor and specializes in teaching the foundation courses of art and design. In addition to teaching, Professor Wilson is the the Foundations Coordinator, managing the curriculum of the beginning levels of drawing, two-dimensional and three-dimensional design, and painting. He is also a student advisor, helping to mentor students as they progress towards their graduation.

Professor Wilson believes that all great artistic content comes from good research. Deep inquiry always begins with a passionate desire to know and communicate a subject more intimately. His teaching philosophy is focused on guiding his students to think of art as a tool for this kind of engaged exploration. He hopes his students will learn that the creative process is an accurate and authentic method for expanding their awareness regarding whatever it is that drives their curiosity. His own art follows this same approach. His desire is to know his faith tradition in a deeper way. He uses his art to achieve this, and to share that knowledge with others.
