The Lab Depot Business Leadership and Apprenticeship Development Experience (BLADE) Program exists to provide a high-impact, accelerated business awareness experience to students at the University of North Georgia College of Science & Mathematics (CSM).
Participants will launch with an HR skill-building initiative consisting of an interview and temperament assessment as well as a resume and LinkedIn profile review. They will then be immersed in a departmental round-robin progression during which they will join each business unit manager to learn about the roles and responsibilities of leading individual departments. The program will conclude with a final leadership discussion with a member of executive management to discuss and debrief what was observed and learned.
The Lab Depot, Inc. (TLD) is an e-commerce business with 30 years of experience in laboratory equipment and supply distribution and over 35,000 clients across multiple industries. Through partnering with UNG, The Lab Depot will work with one student per month in this three-week experiential learning placement. Students will obtain real-world knowledge and experience in an industry that is relatable and connected to their career majors. Learning will include an emphasis on observing and understanding the use of analytics and data measurement tools that support each department’s function and quality. Introducing CSM students to a science-supporting industry provides an opportunity for them to gain irreplaceable insight and an even bigger view of their degree’s potential.
Any student with a major considered a part of the College of Science & Mathematics. One student per month will be selected.
