    Career Paths

Professional level language proficiency is a highly desirable skill set in today’s globalized world.

In the public sector, certain positions in the US military and US government agencies, like the CIA and FBI, require a professional level language proficiency and many also prefer candidates with international experience.

In the private sector, international businesses with functioning branches in China, as well as international non-profits and NGOs seek to hire individuals with professional language skills and multiple experiences abroad.

Acquisition of a second language is not only a positive career move but also a positive move for personal development. Language is key to opening doors and broadening minds.

Graduates of the Chinese Flagship Program will take their place among the next generation of global professionals by bringing a superior level of proficiency in Chinese to their work and contributing their skills to U.S. competitiveness and national security.

My knowledge of Chinese has opened up new worlds to me. It has enabled me to build bridges in my personal and professional life that would not have been possible without the language skills that I gained with Flagship.
