The Center for Undergraduate Research and CreativeActivities (CURCA) at the University of North Georgia is committed to supporting faculty and students in their intellectual and creative pursuits.
We are dedicated to providing faculty and students with :
- mentorship throughout their research and creative activities,
- funding for research and creative projects,
- recognition for faculty and students engaging in research, and
- ways of publicizing and disseminating research accomplishments.
In addition, we serve as a clearinghouse of research and scholarly opportunities for undergraduates and faculty.
Why undergraduate research?
Students who engage in research and creative activities as undergraduates have higher learning gains, such as problem solving and critical thinking skills, and increased self-confidence and independence. Good problem solving and critical thinking skills are highly valued in today's workplace - no matter the field of study you decide to pursue!
Is undergraduate research for you? There's only one way to find out! Look through our page, find a faculty member in your department, and contact him or her about engaging in research and creative activities. Or, contact us and let us help you find a research mentor!
To promote learning through students' active engagement in undergraduate research and creative activities throughout their university experience.
