    Travel Grants

Travel grants of up to $500 are awarded by CURCA to assist undergraduate students who wish to present their research or creative activity at any type of external (off-campus) conference or presentation. CURCA accepts applications for travel grants in both the fall and spring semesters. We know how hard UNG students work, and our office is excited to offer these grants to help facilitate your presentation!

    Frequently Asked Questions

    • Can I apply for a conference/travel grant if I already graduated?
No, you can only apply if you are a student currently attending University of North Georgia.
    • Can seniors apply for a travel grant?
Yes! However, your presentation must occur BEFORE you graduate from UNG. We cannot reimburse you if the conference occurs after you have graduated.
    • Do I receive $500 if I win?
No, you can receive up to $500. The awarded amounts vary depending on application and will be determined by the CURCA office.
    • Should I estimate on the lower end for my cost?
No, please estimate accurately the amount if you can. That helps us when deciding how much to reward.
    • Will requesting above $500 disqualify me or hurt my chances?
No, please accurately estimate your costs whatever they may be and we will decide how much we can award from there.
    • How do I know if my conference is local, state, regional or national?
You should talk to your faculty advisor or the conference organizations prior to applying to clarify the level of conference.
    • What if I haven’t been accepted yet to my conference?

You can submit a statement for an expected acceptance date with your application. It’s ok if you haven’t gotten your acceptance yet as long as you include that statement.

    • Can I submit more than one application for conference/travel grants?
Yes you can submit more than one if you are attending multiple conferences. There is no guarantee both conference/travel grants will be awarded but it doesn’t hurt your chances to do so.
