Overview
Gary Pearce is a jewelry and metalwork artist from Athens, Georgia. He has taught at UNG since 2018 on the Gainesville and Oconee campuses. Prior to coming to UNG, Gary taught drawing, two-dimensional design, and three-dimensional design at the University of Georgia and the Art Institute of Atlanta.
His work alternates between sculpture and jewelry. His sculptures combine figurative and non-objective styles, where realistic figures are placed on steel supports. His jewelry pieces are bezel set semi-precious stones and casting rings. Gary makes jewelry for Katherine.Suzanne.Designs, his wife's design company, and also sells his work through Etsy and at shows.
In Spring 2021, Gary taught the first-ever course in jewelry at metal work at the University of North Georgia.
