Canceling My Housing Contract:

Full Cancellation

To cancel a contract, the resident must submit a completed Housing Cancellation Form. A resident’s cancellation of this Housing Agreement will result in accruing certain cancellation charges as described in the Summer, Fall, and Spring Cancellation Schedules (see tabs). Exceptions to this are below in the "No Cost Termination" section.

No Cost Termination

Resident may cancel his/her Housing Agreement without cancellation charges upon submission of supporting documentation evidencing one of the following occurrences during the Term:

  1. Graduation
  2. Call to active military duty
  3. Marriage
  4. Birth of a child
  5. Enrollment in a University-sponsored study abroad program or affiliated academic internship
  6. Approved medical withdrawal from the University
  7. Death of Resident
  8. International or Direct Exchange Program Participation

Any Resident canceling for one of the reasons covered by the above list will remain responsible for payment of the Housing Fee on a pro-rata basis through the date of cancellation.

Housing Fees for the academic year are viewable on the University housing website.

Additional Fees:

  • Application Fee: $150 billed at application
  • Cadet Housing Deposit: $250 due before housing contract is offered
  • Non-Cadet Dorm Fee: $20 per semester due at the time that tuition is due
  • Cadet Dorm Fee: $50 per semester due at the time that tuition is due
  • Late Fees: $6 per credit hour

Other Fees and Fines:

  • Improper Checkout: $50
  • Improper Check In: $50
  • Key Replacement: $50

Cancellation Schedule

Fall Semester Cancellations – All Students (Cadets and Civilian)

Cancel without penalty: through April 29

  • Cancel with $500 penalty: May 1- May 31
  • Cancel with $750 penalty: June 1 – June 30
  • Cancel with $1200 penalty: July 1 – August 7
  • Full penalty: After classes begin for fall semester
  • Full penalty: no show with no written notification

Spring Semester Cancellations – All Students (Cadets and Civilian)

Cancel without penalty: through October 31

  • Cancel with $500 penalty: November 1 through November 30
  • Cancel with $750 penalty: December 1 – December 31
  • Cancel with $1200 penalty: January 1 – January 4
  • Full penalty: Cancellation January 5 or later
  • Full penalty: no show with no written notification

How to Cancel

If you know that you are no longer interested in living on campus and want to cancel your contract complete the Housing Cancellation Form for the Fall/Spring or Summer sessions:
