New Student Housing Application Process
1. Apply
The student must apply and be accepted as a residential student to the University of North Georgia (UNG).
2. Confirm Acceptance
After acceptance to UNG, students must confirm their attendance through the Check Application Status page.
3. Housing Information Email
The Residence Life Office will send housing information (via email) to the residential student's University of North Georgia email account.
4. Application Fee
Students who apply for housing will be charged a $150 one-time, nonrefundable housing application fee. The application fee will be added to your student invoice within 7-10 business days and you may pay it with your tuition and fees.
Please note: If you apply for housing, but decide at a later date you no longer plan on attending the Dahlonega campus and/or living on campus, you are still required to pay this fee.
5. Housing Portal
Each student will be given access via the Non-Cadet Housing Portal (Login Required) to complete a housing application, roommate selection, and room selection.
6. Roommate Requests
Roommate requests must be confirmed in order for one roommate to select a bedroom for both roommates. However, any student may choose a room with an empty bed without confirming an existing occupant as their roommate.
7. Moving Instructions Letter
Letters will be emailed out around the first week of July for fall semester housing and mid-December for spring semester housing, detailing the moving instructions.
