Living Learning Communities

Live Learn Lead Community (3LC)

The 3LC is a living learning community reserved for incoming first-year students of all majors who desire to evolve their leadership skills. Students who are chosen to participate in the 3LC will be involved in the following:

  • UNG Leadership Certificate Program
  • Adaptive Leadership Course (taught during the fall semester, exclusive section for 3LC participants)
  • Quarterly networking opportunities with leaders in respective career fields
  • Individualized workshops from Career Services to help prepare for future careers
  • Experiential learning trips to various locations in the state of Georgia
  • Exclusive events for 3LC participants
  • Tools to learn leadership styles
  • Early registration for classes through Special Population Orientation

Applicants to the 3LC should have a minimum 2.5 GPA (high school), be prepared to live in the North Georgia Suites (double occupancy suites), and actively participate in the community for the entire academic year. Applicants should also be able and available to enroll in the 3LC course Adaptive Leadership. This course will be taught during the fall semester and will take place in the North Georgia Suites Classroom.

Global Learning Community

The Global Learning Community (GLC) is a hall for domestic students who are interested in studying abroad at some point in their college career, or those interested in Global/International Affairs living alongside international students. Students can look forward to:

  • CGLO 1503 – Contemporary Global Issues common course (taught during the fall semester, exclusive section for GLC participants)
  • Monthly events coinciding with global cultural events
  • Events and meetings with the Center for Global Engagement Office to learn and prepare for future study/live abroad opportunities
  • Experiential learning trips to various locations in the state of Georgia
  • Exclusive events for GLC participants
  • Tools on how to study and live abroad
  • Making lifelong friends from all over the world
  • Early registration for classes through Special Population Orientation

Students will participate in a common academic course and are able to participate in exclusive opportunities that will contribute to a positive impact on their on-campus living experience. Students accepted to participate in the program must be prepared to live in the North Georgia Suites (double occupancy suites).
