Performance Evaluations offer a formal opportunity to review the accuracy of job descriptions, reflect on the fulfillment of expectations, acknowledge positive impacts, and set new goals for continual growth. PeopleSoft ePerformance is a web-based self-service, performance management solution that will streamline and improve the evaluation process.
Managers and employees should maintain ongoing feedback throughout the year. We believe building those conversations will result in a strong review process.
HR recommends employee self-evaluations be completed no later than February 1, in order to allow supervisors ample time to complete their portion of the evaluation and submit it for next level review.
Managers should review the ePerformance workflow that must be completed by March 31.
There will be four virtual training sessions to choose from in the Fall as well as an open lab in January for additional in-person assistance. Review the ePerformance Training Schedule.
Chrome is the preferred browser. We have found that Google's Chrome browser works best with ePerformance. And while most browsers are "compatible" with OneUSG, not all links populate easily without repeated refreshing when using other browsers like Mozilla's Firefox or Microsoft's Edge.
The manager must move the evaluation through the initial three steps (define criteria, checkpoint 1, and finalize criteria) before a self-evaluation can be completed by an employee. When the evaluation is ready for your self-evaluation, the “complete self-evaluation” link will become an active, green link, allowing you to enter ratings and comments.
Faculty members should receive an ePerformance evaluation if they have a staff member reporting to them, in which case they will need to complete their staff members' evaluations in ePerformance.
There are three common causes for this issue, but you can contact your institution's ePerformance administrator if you are experiencing this difficulty:
The position information of you and/or your employee(s) is not up-to-date in the system. (The system generates the documents based on the defined reporting structure at that time.)
Your institution administrator has not created the documents. (If they chose to create them manually/individually.)
Your employee(s) is in the provisional (aka "probationary") period. (Typically those hired/rehired within 6 months of the start of the evaluation cycle.)
By using the Nomination feature, a manager can invite other contributors to provide feedback for any of their direct reports. The manager can view other's feedback and can incorporate any pertinent information into the evaluation. The contributors can offer feedback but will not be able to change any ratings.
