Ronald Larson
Overview
Ron Larson is an instructor of management in the Mike Cottrell College of Business. Prior to joining UNG, Larson served as the general manager of Achasta, a residential and golf community located in Dahlonega for 4 years and was responsible for all aspects of the community including sales, marketing, membership, property management, golf and food & beverage services on site. He has also served as manager for The Lake Club at Reynolds Plantation, as director of philanthropy for Liberty Lutheran Services and as a CFO for several other organizations since 1981.
In addition to his work experience, Larson served as an adjunct professor for 25 years for the University of Philadelphia in Finance. While there, he received the Teacher of the Year Award and has won numerous other awards for his efforts in Kiwanis and, in 2013, received a Faculty and Staff Appreciation Award from Sigma Kappa during Greek Week 2013 on campus at UNG.
Mr. Larson also participated in the University of North Georgia Global Exchange Program by teaching at the University of Liaocheng in Liaocheng, China during the summer of 2013.
He has been married to Linda for 43 years and has 2 children and 4 grandchildren. In the community, Larson has served in a variety of roles including membership and officer positions for both Kiwanis and Rotary, as a board member of the Holly Theater, Community Helping Place, UNG Foundation Finance Committee, and as a member of both the Achasta Golf Club and Reynolds Plantation.
