Nate Patterson UNG '16

my name is nate patterson
and i am the core legacy recruitment
network coordinator
for ung i get to do primarily
out-of-state recruiting
so i work mostly out of the southeast
region and some of the west
coast states and on top of that i work
with all of our alumni
i started the corps in 2013 january 2013
and i graduated in 2016. so i commanded
hotel company
i was in charge of 85 cadets 24 7 which
was a large responsibility
and i was also a member of the national
guard while i was in school
so i enlisted to help pay for my
education
and then went on to actually get a
scholarship for my last two years
so when i graduated i got a degree in
international affairs
with a focus in the middle east so while
i was here i learned how to speak arabic
i had the chance to study abroad in
morocco for two months which i never
thought i would have been able to do but
the cadet program helped
pay for that so i was very thankful for
that and that fit perfectly
into what i wanted to do in the army
which was military intelligence so i
became a military intelligence officer
in the georgia army national guard so i
do
intelligence work part-time on the
weekends and full-time i'm working for
north georgia with the overall
experience and just how it challenged me
to really
you know whittle away the bad habits and
bring in all the good
ones i feel like really did set me up
for success
later on in my current position at the
school as well as my job in the army as
an intelligence officer
where attention to detail is everything
and the information that i provide my
commander impacts decisions
of hundreds of soldiers down the road
so i'm confident in what i do now
because i was given that confidence
through north georgia
and being a cadet while i was here
