Requirements for Visual Arts Majors
Getting Started
After you confirm your decision to attend UNG and you register for an orientation session, you will be contacted by an academic advisor from Academic Advising. The professional advisor will help create your first semester schedule.
At New Student/Transfer Student Orientation, you will receive training from Student Orientation and Success (SOS) about how to complete the UNG Core Curriculum.
After your first semester at UNG, your visual arts program advisor (the person listed in your Tranguide as your advisor) will assist you in selecting courses that provide a path towards graduation and that best fit your interests.
Core Curriculum
Besides completing Areas A-E of the UNG Core Curriculum, it is extremely important that you start completing Area F from your first semester, and that you pass Foundations Portfolio Review.
A grade of C or better is required for all ART courses in Area F and your major courses. Check the UNG program catalog for your major to learn about specific requirements for your program and use your plan of study.
