Faculty Research Colloquium: River Research and Professional Leave
Posted: September 19, 2013
Two years ago, Robert Fuller began to develop a research project and grand adventure that he hoped to carry out during a one-year leave from teaching. In December, 2011, he formally applied for a one-year professional leave at half pay rather than the optional half-year at full pay. At the same time, he worked to develop external funding to pay the project's expenses and to make up for the loss of half of his salary.
This Faculty Research Colloquium presentation will report on the process of developing a professional leave proposal, options for taking professional leave without losing any income, and the outcome of his research trip.
