The New Faculty Institute (NFI) program introduces newly hired faculty to the University of North Georgia’s (UNG) mission of “quality education, service, inquiry and creativity.”
The program supports acclimation to the institution for new faculty and teaching staff and fosters camaraderie for all while promoting teaching excellence and professional development. One of the most beneficial aspects of the program arises in the sharing of experiences and insights from our classroom practices.
We strongly encourage all full-time and part-time faculty new to UNG to participate in the New Faculty Institute program, a series of six workshops across the full academic year offered on the Blue Ridge, Cumming, Dahlonega, Gainesville, and Oconee Campuses.
In order to qualify for a program certificate, NFI participants must attend four of the six available sessions, respond to reflective questions about each session, and complete a two-page assessment of how program content influenced practices. If you miss a required session, please make every attempt to contact CTLL prior to the session or up to a week after the session so alternative accommodations can be made. In most cases, you will be requested to register for another upcoming session if possible. A certificate cannot be earned by anyone who does not attend at least three sessions in person.
