    Chancellor’s Learning Scholars

    The University of North Georgia is participating in the Chancellor’s Learning Scholars program initiated by the University System of Georgia to provide additional faculty development opportunities across the state. Five faculty from UNG were chosen as Chancellor’s Learning Scholars (CLS) and will lead a Faculty Learning Communities (FLC). These groups will share ideas regarding teaching and learning and meet regularly for at least one semester. When the program concludes, participants will be able to pinpoint a change or innovation they have made in their classrooms as a result of their participation.

    Each scholar will lead an Faculty Learning Community (FLC) in spring 2021. Chancellor’s Learning Scholars serve on a two-year term. 

    The deadline to apply for Esther Morgan-Ellis’s FLC is Wednesday, December 15, 2021. The deadline to apply for Courtney Ferriter’s FLC is Friday, December 31, 2021.

    Participant Expectations

    • Actively participate in all FLC meetings during the Spring 2022 semester
    • Read, analyze, and discuss relevant research and materials
    • Participate in reflection activities based on classroom practices and outcomes
    • Implement a change or innovative assignment, activity or course material addition in their UNG classroom
    • Complete a final written (one to two page) reflection on the experience or teaching practice

    This project may lead to some of the participants teaming up for a Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) project based on the FLC activities.
