    Move-In Information

    • Fall Semester
      New student move-in for fall 2022 will occur by appointment only on August 18, 19, and 20. Please check your UNG email the first week in July for the opportunity to sign up for a move-in appointment. Students must submit a photo for their UNG Nighthawks Card prior to coming to campus

      Move-in will be by appointment only August 18, 19, and 20. UNG classes begin on August 22. Please check your UNG email the first week in July for the opportunity to sign up for a move-in appointment. Only two cars are permitted per student, and only two guests will be permitted for each student.

      UNG Nighthawks ID Card

      UNG students must bring their UNG Nighthawks ID card with them to check into the residence halls. New students may pick up their ID card at orientation. Students not attending an in-person orientation may submit their Nighthawks ID photo online at least 3 days prior to their move-in and pick up thier card at move-in.

      Changed Your Mind About Attending UNG?

      Students who completed a housing contract with Residence Life and will not attend UNG should e-mail residencelife@ung.edu and attach a completed cancellation form as soon as possible.

    • Spring Semester
      New student move-in for spring 2023 will occur on Sunday, January 8 from noon - 2 p.m. Students must submit a photo for their UNG Nighthawks Card prior to coming to campus.

      Move-In Information

      New residents moving into the residence halls for spring semester should receive an e-mail from Residence Life that contains important room and roommate information. This e-mail also includes the day/time for move-in and the building into which you will be checking. Please note that students should not arrive before the assigned move-in time, as they will not be allowed to move-in early. 

      UNG Nighthawks ID Card

      Students must bring their UNG Nighthawks ID card with them to check into the residence halls. Students will not have access to the dining hall without it.

    This list provides suggestions from current residents. You do not have to bring all of this, and you may want to contact your roommate in advance and decide what the two of you can share. Remember, there is limited space in the rooms.

    • Shower caddy with holes in the bottom

    • Pajamas that you'll feel comfortable wearing on the hall
    • Slippers
    • A few of your favorite things that makes you feel comfortable

    • Dry erase board and pens for door
    • Study lamp
    • Smart TV or TV with casting device (Roku, AppleTV, Chromecast, etc.)
    • Small refrigerator (30 inches tall or less)
    • Sealed containers for food
    • A hot pot
    • Extra clothes hangers
    • Posters and simple decorations
    • Lightweight picture frames for walls
    • Small fan
    • Anything that will save space, such as stackable shelves, storage containers, something to put shoes in/on
    • Push pins or frog tape

    • Cooking appliances with exposed heating elements*
    • Pets* (Only fish or Emotional Support Animals pre-registered through UNG Student Accessibility Services are allowed.)
    • Incense or Candles*
    • George Forman Grills*(permitted in Owen Hall)
    • Microwave* (only prohibited in Lewis Annex and Donovan Hall)
      • Microwaves are permitted in the Commons, but they can only be placed on the common area wall (between the two rooms) due to outlet voltage limits.
    • Toasters* (permitted in Owen Hall)
