Welcome new students!
New student move-in for fall 2025 will occur by appointment only on August 7, 8, and 9.
Check your UNG email for instructions on signing up for a move-in appointment.
Important Details
Your Move-In Appointment
- Check your UNG email for details about your move-in time
- Arrive at your scheduled day and time only.
- No early arrivals. You won’t be able to move in before your scheduled time.
- Move-in appointments are staggered by building to best manage traffic on campus.
- 1,2,3 Rule: One student, two vehicles, three guests.
- We ask that each student bring no more than two vehicles (including your personal vehicle), and a maximum of three guests to help you move in.
- Label all your belongings - It makes unloading faster and less chaotic.
- For details on what you can bring, refer to your specific residence building.
- Student ID: You should pick up your student ID (Nighthawks Card) before your move-in day. If you have completed the necessary information and have not yet picked up your card, it may be provided to you during your check-in at the front desk of your residence hall.
- Card services will have limited hours during move-in.
- Thursday 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
- Friday 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
- Saturday Noon - 6 p.m.

When You Arrive
- Unload your items in the designated area.
- Pro tip: Bring just the essentials for move-in. You can always bring more things later.
- Check in at the front desk of your residence hall
- Move your vehicle(s) to permanent parking.
- Volunteers will be on hand to help you carry items into your new home
- We encourage everyone to stay out of the hallways as much as possible after moving in
- Take your time getting settled in your room.
After You Move In
- Once you’re checked in, your building and room access will be activated.
- You’ll have plenty of time to set up and arrange your room before classes start.
- Classes begin Monday, August 12, 2024. We encourage you to stay on campus once you’ve moved in.

- Fall charges: Check your student account in Banner to view your invoice.
- Be sure to meet payment deadlines so your classes don’t get dropped.
- Meal plans: All students (except Owen Hall residents) are automatically enrolled in the unlimited meal plan.
- You can switch to a 15 or 10-meal plan in Banner once charges post.
- Renter’s Insurance: not required, but strongly recommended. Your family may be able to add coverage under an existing policy at low cost.
