Students admitted to UNG for the Fall 2025 semester as a freshmen or transfer student are required to register for and complete an orientation session. The Fall 2025 orientation sessions will occur in three formats: live virtual via zoom, one day in person, and two-day in person (Dahlonega Residential Only).
The live virtual sessions will occur at pre-determined dates and times using the Zoom video communications application. These day-long sessions will run from approximately 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Once you make your reservation, you will be charged a $65 orientation fee and you will gain access to pre-orientation modules with helpful information about UNG.
The one day in person sessions will run approximately six hours and vary in start time by date.

The two day in person sessions will begin at approximately 9 a.m. on day one, and will end at approximately 2:30 p.m. on day two. Two day in person sessions are only available for Dahlonega residential students. This includes civilian and cadet students living on campus for Fall 2025. Students attending two-day orientation sessions will spend the night in one of our UNG Residence Halls.
Once you make your reservation, you will be charged a $175 orientation fee and you will gain access to pre-orientation modules with helpful information about UNG.
How to Register for Orientation
- Log in to UNG Banner Web
- Go to the Student Tab
- Select the Orientation Reservation link
- Complete the Academic Interest form. UNG professional advisors use the information in this form to build your first semester class schedule prior to your orientation date. You can only submit this form one time. You can make changes to your schedule after attending orientation.
- You will be prompted to choose your orientation date
- Confirm your reservation
- You will receive an automated email with your reservation details
- The “OR” hold will be removed from your student account after your complete the orientation program.
- Complete the self-paced, online pre-orientation modules as a part of your orientation requirement. Once you complete the pre-orientation modules your “OP” hold will be removed.
- You should monitor your UNG email for communications from an academic advisor. Advisors will be building advance schedule based on major, first-come first served. You will be able to view your advance schedule on your Tranguid in Banner once created.

Cadet Information
All incoming FROGs are required to attend a two day in person orientation session designed for cadets and civilian students that will live on the Dahlonega campus for Fall 2025. If you are an out of state FROG and cannot travel to attend an earlier orientation session, we will offer an August date that will open for reservations in late June. Please review the next section for all Summer and Fall 2025 orientation dates.
