This award recognizes faculty who have assumed leadership roles within the last five years. These awardees exemplify UNG’s commitment to shared governance and effective leadership. Up to three awards may be given annually. Previous winners of the Emerging Leader Award may not reapply. Faculty from all campuses are welcome to apply.
On the application, you will be asked to enter application information and upload files. A complete application will contain the following documents:
Letter of Nomination from a UNG leader (coordinator, director, unit head, dean, etc.) with knowledge of the accomplishments of the nominee
Letter of support from UNG colleague who is able to outline the leadership qualities and demonstrated accomplishments (1-2 pages)
If the nomination letter is not from the nominee’s supervisor, please add a letter of support from supervisor (1-2 pages)
Condensed curriculum vitae that includes relevant leadership information (2-3 pages)
Philosophy of leadership (3-5 pages) that includes how that philosophy has contributed to innovations and/or accomplishments as a leader at UNG and, as appropriate, in related professional arena, such as disciplinary field, state advisory committees, etc.
Artifacts of leadership promise and ability, i.e. program development documents, policy work, committee products, letter from external source familiar with leadership promise and accomplishments, etc. (5-10 pages)

The award nomination material must be submitted by April 3, 2023, at 11:59 p.m.
