The University of North Georgia (UNG) Testing Centers are governed by the National College Testing Association’s (NCTA) best practices and, as such, take seriously our role of providing a secure test environment.
Check-In Process
During the check-in process, after storing all non-permitted items in a locker, staff will inspect any and all eyeglasses, permitted jewelry and other accessories to look for electronic devices/cameras that could be a security threat in protecting the integrity of content of exams administered.
Health and Safety Measures
Hand sanitizer is available. Stations are located in and near our waiting areas, restroom entrances, lab entry and exit doors.
Increased cleaning and disinfecting regimens in between all testing appointments.
Candidates may wear disposable gloves during testing. Test center staff will inspect gloves both before and after the exam. Gloves must be disposed of in front of the proctor upon completion of the test.
Security Procedures
Listed below are security procedures to expect on test day. This security inspection will take a few seconds and will be done at check-in and again upon return from breaks before reentering testing lab.
Raising slacks/pants leg above the ankles for visual inspection.
Pull out pockets showing the cloth or placing hands in them for visual inspection
Raising sleeves to the elbow for visual inspection
Removal and/or inspection of accessories such as belt, scarf, vest, jewelry, and head/hair piece, etc.
Tattoo inspection.
Jacket and hoodie inspection if allowed in testing room.
Patting down yourself on legs, waist and covered parts of the arms.
If required; being scanned with a metal detector wand.
No. It is against UNG’s policy to allow a payment transaction using one of the testing center computers. You have to complete payment using your own device.
No. You will need to contact the testing center that you originally registered your appointment prior to your appointment to inform them that you would prefer to test at a different UNG location. Once you communicate with the original UNG testing location, you will need to contact your preferred UNG testing location so the testing staff can confirm that you submitted the fee and to discuss a time and date.
To obtain a DUO passcode, please do the following: Step 1. Open the DUO Mobile App Step 2. Select dropdown arrow to obtain the 6 digit passcode Step 3. Bring passcode to your scheduled testing time. *Once you arrive at the Testing Center, staff will direct you with next steps.

Electronics are not allowed in the testing lab. The testing center will provide lockers to store all of your personal items that are prohibited from the testing lab.
