    Test Center Procedures and FAQs

The University of North Georgia (UNG) Testing Centers are governed by the National College Testing Association’s (NCTA) best practices and, as such, take seriously our role of providing a secure test environment.

    Check-In Process

During the check-in process, after storing all non-permitted items in a locker, staff will inspect any and all eyeglasses, permitted jewelry and other accessories to look for electronic devices/cameras that could be a security threat in protecting the integrity of content of exams administered.

    Health and Safety Measures

    • Hand sanitizer is available. Stations are located in and near our waiting areas, restroom entrances, lab entry and exit doors.
    • Increased cleaning and disinfecting regimens in between all testing appointments.
    • Candidates may wear disposable gloves during testing. Test center staff will inspect gloves both before and after the exam. Gloves must be disposed of in front of the proctor upon completion of the test.

    Security Procedures

Listed below are security procedures to expect on test day. This security inspection will take a few seconds and will be done at check-in and again upon return from breaks before reentering testing lab.

    1. Raising slacks/pants leg above the ankles for visual inspection.
    2. Pull out pockets showing the cloth or placing hands in them for visual inspection
    3. Raising sleeves to the elbow for visual inspection
    4. Removal and/or inspection of accessories such as belt, scarf, vest, jewelry, and head/hair piece, etc.
    1. Tattoo inspection.
    2. Jacket and hoodie inspection if allowed in testing room.
    3. Patting down yourself on legs, waist and covered parts of the arms.
    4. If required; being scanned with a metal detector wand.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Taking Your Test

    • Do you accept walk-in testing?
No. We offer appointment based testing only.
    • Do I have to take my tests at my home campus?
No. You may test at any UNG testing facility.
    • What if I need disability accommodations?
For all accommodation needs, please contact SDS.
    • Can I test remotely?
Yes, for Accuplacer and Math 1111.

    Paying for Your Test

    • Is payment and scheduling completed all online or can I just arrive to the testing center and pay the proctor fee with cash?
Yes. Payment and scheduling is completed all online. UNG Testing cannot accept cash as payment.
    • Can I use one of the testing center computers to pay for my exam appointment?
No. It is against UNG’s policy to allow a payment transaction using one of the testing center computers. You have to complete payment using your own device.
    • Can I get a refund?
All testing fees are nonrefundable and nontransferable.
    • I scheduled my exam at a different UNG location but I would like to test at a different UNG location. Do I need to re-register online and pay an additional fee?
No. You will need to contact the testing center that you originally registered your appointment prior to your appointment to inform them that you would prefer to test at a different UNG location. Once you communicate with the original UNG testing location, you will need to contact your preferred UNG testing location so the testing staff can confirm that you submitted the fee and to discuss a time and date.
